Design Trends: Cassis
Cassis is a color with a deep fusion of pink and purple. This shade can capture the modernity of purple and the gender-neutral appeal of pink, and it’s important not to mistake this color for Lilac (a lighter shade of purple) with this Cassis is a darker, greyish purple.
The darker tone gives the pieces a more sophisticated yet rich texture. When it comes to pieces in velvet, this tone is able to enhance it even more.
Your home should always have some detail that tells to other people who you are. With this color, you can have a high-end piece of furniture conceived to your space with a little touch of this hue.
The deep purplish tones of the elegantly understated Cassis draws inspiration from nature in shades that are sophisticated, colorful and rich.
With the moodier purple undertones, it evokes feelings of grandeur and decadence, due to its historic connotations with royalty.
Nature did not make it easy to dye fabric this tone and historically the production of this material in this color was one of the most laborious, time-consuming and expensive processes around. Only the rich could afford such a luxury and aside from King’s robes and priests’ stoles, this hue was hard to obtain. Enter Cassis which is awash with pink uplifting the delectable purple hues and harnessing the calming effect the rosy shade can have on our emotional energies.
