Blooming Fabulous Florals at Sofas and Stuff Bishop Stortford

The weather here in Bishops Stortford is blooming fabulous and has been giving us the promise of Summer being just around the corner. Has us toying with the opportunity to get out and about in the Bishop Stortford area.  We are moving closer to Carnival day, on Saturday 15th June 2019 which Sofas and Stuff Bishops Stortford are proud sponsors of.  It’s going to be a great community event with stalls and attractions taking place on Sworders Field, and of course a carnival parade.

With the changing of the seasons both ourselves and our customers are revisiting the idea of floral sofas.  You may of shied away from florals with echoes of the ‘throw away your chintz’ campaign ringing in your ears but actually there are so many stunning fabrics available that work perfectly in a more contemporary home.  Embrace your inner flower child and let your imagination bloom.

Flower power

Paissiflora a luxurious floral velvet which is part of the Exotica collection by Clarke and Clarke.  Featuring a floral design, there are various colours in the design which make it great for coordinating with different room schemes.  It is available in five different colourways but my personal favourite is ‘Kingfisher’ a vibrant teal shade which would look fantastic again a pale blush pink wall or maybe a muted mustard colour.

Bishop Stortford

Here at the Bishops Stortford sofas and stuff showroom we’ve had several customers enquiring about ‘Floreale’ by Designers Guild.  A laid back floral design of white peonies and foliage digitally printed on luxury soft washed pure linen.  Pefect for creating a relaxed country feel in your home.  Floreale is one of the fabrics shown on our website so you are able to choose your style of sofa and this fabric and get a cost for it.  But nothing beats visiting the showroom in person, trying the sofa you like and looking through the pattern book.  This is definitely a fabric that you have to see to appreciate fully.

I could hardly blog about floral fabrics and not mention Bluebellgray, with their unique watercolour style.  From the Bluebell Woods fabric featuring sun-drenched bluebells entwined with wild honeysuckle in a vibrant colour palette of sunny yellows and deep blue hues to the James design featuring watercolour colours, which although not strictly flowers, do give that overall summer floral feel.

Summer Vibes

If you want a floral that embraces not only summer vibe but works fantastically for all seasons, then Palazzo could be just what your looking for.

Breathtakingly beautiful the Palazzo collection from Osborne & Little.  Inspired by Venice and the magnificent palazzi on the Grand Canal, this collection has opulent printed and woven velvets. It is also evocative of different periods of art history associated with Venice from the early Renaissance to the Peggy Guggenheim.  Imagine our Kentwell or Grassington sofa in the ‘Pellestrina’ floral velvet…..

If you’ve had your imagination sparked but your not sure where to start on choosing a fabric, we’d be happy to help with one of our design consultations in store.  You can enjoy a non hurried approach, good coffee and we can explore the numerous fabric books we have here.  If you’d like to book a consultation just give us a call and we can put you in the diary and the magic can begin.
