An early start, a dream team and a heavenly house make for a great Summer sofa shoot 2019! We the Sofas and Stuff team found ourselves en route to Ealing to get creative in the most wonderful of surroundings.
We covered so many flavours from fresh velvets, Pantones colour of the year coral, pretty florals with a bit of masculinity to balance the act. Just to give you a little taster here’s a sneak peek into our day… The looks created befit country style, urban outfits and period properties, essentially there really is a sofa for everyone!
Coral
With Coral being the key interior colour for 2019 we felt we had to put our spin on it! We paired our Chiddingfold Chair in the most sumptuous Linwood fabric in the Tango shade Flamingo. We decided to really play this beautiful colour up by placing it in an airy room that is adorned in Farrow and Ball, Oval Room Blue. The two colours combined create a really strong look and give it a certain masculine edge to coral that may be perceived as teetering on the feminine end of the scale, we’ve well and truly put that to bed!
Blue Hues
I’m not sure whether you’ve noticed but blue hues are everywhere currently, whether it’s matte navy kitchen units or a feature wall in your living room blue has become big! We shot the delightful Bignor sofa bed in a sky blue shade by Villa Nova, Geneva Nordic. We styled this shot with crisp, white bed linen atop of an exquisite parquet flooring with enormous sash windows to frame the sofa bed perfectly. Our second offering was our traditionally shaped Waverley sofa, the fabric we chose is by the fabric house Romo and is a navy linen Linara Billbery. The sofa was placed underneath a beautiful chandelier with rugs arranged on the floor to give a super luxe finish.
Spring Greens
Well Spring Green sofas are a key trend, especially in velvet! We took along two stunners. The first sofa was the Hampton in Warwick fabric Plush Celery, this fabric is so soft yet hugely durable for a velvet. We paired it with the Pentlow footstool in Old Rose which is a beautiful pastel pink and some multicolour print scatters.
The other green was our Kentwell in Varese Green. We styled this shot with plants arranged over a stunning dresser and palms to create an almost indoor jungle effect.
Punchy Prints
No shoot would be complete without a variation of punchy prints. We chose a great cross section, from the large linen floral fabric by Designers Guild Veronese Natural Ochre on our Stockbridge sofa, with scatters also from the Designers Guild in a stripe Race Point and Sepia Varese, Delft. We really mixed up the patterns to show case that by playing with unusual variations it really can work wonders and create a fresh approach to being bold with patterns.
One of our favourite pics from the shoot was our Clavering sofa, in a printed faded floral velvet from Linwood Omega in Genie Terracotta. This sofa was shot in a beautiful formal room with walls of a rich navy shade that electrified the sofa!
Sunshine Shades
Two of our sofas in sunshine shades made the cut. We decided upon our substantial Stourhead in Burnt Orange and our dainty but bright Holmfirth in Designers Guild’s Varese cotton velvet in the colour Primrose, so apt for the time of year wouldn’t you say?
Watch this space as these shots will be hot off the press very soon indeed! It really was a wonderful day with exciting styling and a great choice of products proudly presented to you from Sofas and Stuff HQ!
