For this month’s ‘styled by’ feature, we sat down to chat with effortlessly sophisticated, interiors influencer Stacey Dyer (aka @end_of_the_row). Starting her Instagram page as a personal project (documenting the renovation of her end of terrace Edwardian home) Stacey ‘never EVER expected anyone else to take an interest.’ But take an interest they did and over 150k Instagram followers and a well-loved interiors blog later, Stacey has solidified herself as a go-to voice for those looking to inject some classical style into their own space.

Having recently added our Audrey bed to her home, Stacey has given us some exclusive tips and tricks on how to create a timelessly elegant bedroom. Read on to find out how you can breathe some new life into your own boudoir…

Layer up

“Looking at old images of the early 1900’s has inspired me with the layering of textures and tones. A bedroom should be full of luxury soft tactile textures that make you want to snuggle up and relax. I love using textures that instantly make you want to touch the product – the smart velvet upholstery of my Audrey bed feels soft and luxurious.”

We fully support Stacey’s pro-snuggle stance and love her combination of soft textures. The supple finish of our Audrey bed in Armour smart velvet perfectly offsets the plump scatter cushions and quilted throw to create a rich, multi-dimensional aesthetic.

Go boutique

“We all spend a lot of time in bed asleep so splash out on your bed and bed linen if possible. You’ll never regret treating yourself to a fabulous quality bed! I loved the classic design and the boutique winged style headboard of the Audrey bed. The sumptuous fabric and the bold colour options were also a big attraction. I love how the sides of the bed are a continuation of the fabric that wraps around the contours of the frame for a luxurious finish.”

Listen to your home

“Live in your home for a good 3-6 months before you make any home décor decisions. Take your time to see where the morning light hits or which room feels particularly cold in the winter. You will begin to get a feel for your home and understand its character. You can then begin to build on this by decorating accordingly. All too often we’re tempted to impose a pre-planned vision onto our interior space without listening to what naturally fits. Take time to get to know your space and let it lead your decision making organically.”

Let natural light do the talking

“Work with the natural light in the room and paint walls in opposing colours to brighten things up. Use mirrors to reflect the light in smaller or darker bedrooms.”

A room-hack with ravishing results! By opting for soft sage and dove grey walls, Stacey has optimised the natural brightness of her bedroom. Using mirrors of all shapes and sizes, this room reflects its natural light to create a sense of space and grandeur.

Find the right fabrics

“Having a toddler who enjoys climbing into bed with us, we wanted a fabric that was durable against spillages. It made sense to opt for the Armour smart velvet so that any spillages can be quickly mopped up!”

If you want to keep your bedroom looking as beautiful as the day you designed it then be sure to incorporate fabrics that are family life proof! Our smart velvets allow you to wipe away any spillages before they have time to stain, so sticky fingers and muddy paws are no problem! You can order your free fabric samples here to try them at for yourself at home.
