Christmas – as styled by you

December has appeared, and with it has come the twinkling of lights in the streets, the smell of freshly cut fir trees and the excitement of Christmas. The highly anticipated Christmas adverts are finally out, and whether you’re more of a fan of the tear-jerking dragon, or prefer the limitless creativity of a child’s imagination, we’re sure you’ll be starting to feel the Christmas spirit and the sheer delight that comes with decorating your home.

At sofa.com HQ, we’re always blown away by the incredible Christmas décor displayed throughout your homes, so we’ve decided to share some of our favourite festive looks. With a range of different themes, why not draw inspiration from these looks to create your very own winter wonderland?

Our Duke armchairs in Taupe brushed linen cotton, opposite our Bluebell sofa in Midnight Blue brushed linen cotton

As the winter draws in, combat the dark, cold days with a bright yet understated colour palette for your festive scheme. Here, Lydia Millen has captured the perfect English countryside Christmas… The spectacular Christmas tree is most certainly the centre of attention, combining the colours of Lydia’s Duke armchairs in Taupe brushed linen cotton with decorations of light grey, gold and white. Her Bluebell sofa in Midnight Blue brushed linen cotton adds a subtle touch of colour to the room, and works beautifully with the natural tones of her wicker baskets. This looks like the perfect place for a pre-dinner glass of wine, or a post-Christmas snooze.

@end_of_the_row is a master of achieving the perfect balance of Christmas touches to her space. In her living room, Stacey has opted for a traditional festive theme, laying a simple garland across the fireplace, which perfectly complements her Dahlia sofa in Jade smart velvet and the deep blue interior. By opting for seasonal foliage with simple garland, wreaths and other greenery, you’ll be bringing the best bits of the outdoors in this Christmas. For the perfect finishing touch, add a brightly coloured, cosy throw and you’ll be ready to snuggle up with a mulled wine (or two!) in no time.

Adding a Christmas tree and a sprinkle of snow to your living space is the perfect way to keep your guests in the Christmas spirit! Here @katebowbow has complemented her Bluebell sofa bed in Cobble brushed linen cotton (which Pip seems to agree is the perfect place for a nap!) with a Nordic themed Christmas tree. It really is all in the detail, where cream silk bows, metallic baubles and feather tassles give a beautiful touch of luxury to the snow sprinkled tree. Layer a luxurious faux fur throw and textured scatter cushion for that extra touch of cosiness that makes you want to snuggle up with a mug of hot chocolate and stick on your favourite Christmas film.

Make sure you’re welcomed with festive cheer as soon as you walk through the front door by introducing some seasonal touches to your entrance or hallway. @decorbuddi have created the perfect cosy Christmas space to sit back and relax away from the buzz by intertwining a simple garland and fairy lights around their bannister, and sitting two of our Charlotte armchairs below, finished in our luxurious Armour smart velvet for that traditional Christmas feel. Don’t forget the scatter cushions in a bright jewel tone for a festive pop of colour!

Sometimes, the traditional Christmas decorations need a total revamp! @littlebigbell has created a startlingly different look for her Christmas tree, using her Harper sofa in Canary cotton matt velvet as inspiration for a tropical themed Christmas. Using bright pops of colour and playful patterns, @littlebigbell has crafted a fun, unique Christmas corner that we just can’t get enough of! Introduce orange, lemon and lime baubles, graphic scatter cushions and colourful prints to your own home for a space that will always put a smile on your face this Christmas.

Keep Christmas merry and bright with traditional hues of red and green, just like @threeboysandapinkbath here. Sofie hasn’t been held back by the constraints of decorating a rental, using her Madison sofas in Dusty Rose cotton matt velvet to transform the room, and adding extra colour with the striking green of the tree and colourful rosy baubles. Introduce various shades of red in your decorations and scatter cushions to add depth to your space (and a few faux fur throws are perfect for adding cosy texture!). This looks like the dream living room to run down to and open presents on Christmas morning!
